West Central Ohio Flyers

Officially chartered in 2004, the purpose of the West Central Ohio Flyers Racing Pigeon Club is to foster fellowship, fun, and a positive social environment for its members as they engage in the friendly competition of racing Homing Pigeons. We do not fly for cash prizes, but we sure do cherish the bragging rights accompanying any win. Charter members consisted of seven flyers from Lima, Wapakoneta, Cairo, and Sidney, Ohio. Today we have seven members from Lima and Sidney,Ohio, and Portland, Indiana. We are affiliated with the American Racing Pigeon Union, and all our members are also members of that organization.

We are always seeking to expand our membership, and current members are more than happy to help out new members in the pigeon racing sport. If you reside within approximately a 45-mile radius of Wapakoneta, Ohio, and would like to investigate this fascinating hobby, please contact one of the members listed at the very bottom of this page.

2011 Old Bird Season was cancelled due to heavy rains, winds, cold temperatures and otherwise nasty weather that made it almost impossible for most members to train in a timely manner. We were never able to get five lofts together for an official race, so no old bird races were flown.

Race Series cancelled because although we do have enough members to be chartered by the AU, not all members are flying young birds
and we won't have enough flyers (5) for our races to qualify for AU awards, especially since we would not be flying any of those races with the large combine.
